The typification of the names Brachypodium ×cugnacii and B. ×paui (Brachypodieae, Poaceae) is discussed. All relevant sources, as well as specimens, illustrations, and references cited in the protologues are carefully examined for the purpose to fix the application of the names. The two names above mentioned are lectotypified using specimens preserved at P and BC herbaria, respectively. Finally, a comment on the nomenclatural type of Brachypodium retusum is reported.
