The life spans of the 31 most representative ruderal species of the City of Almeria are described, being the relationships with climatic factors (monthly mean temperature and rainfall) established by means of regression analysis. From the data obtained in this study it is concluded that most of seedlings emergence, vegetative growth, flowering and fruiting occurred in December-February, February-March. Match and April-May respectively. The results suggest the major importance of temperature in the regulation of all the phenological states. This is probably related to its regulation role upon the photosyntetic rates, as well as on the velocity of metabolic reactions during the germination processes. It is also suggested that temperature plays an important role during the flowering stage, since specific levels must be fulfilled for a suitable flowers development.
