The floral biology of a natural population or Cneorum tricoccon L. (Cneoraceae) from Majorca (Balearic Islands, Spain) has been proven to be andromonoecious, a condition not yet described for this species. The ratio perfect: staminate flowers varied along two consecutive reproductive cycles, being low in the dry year 1990 and high in the humid year 1991. The plants are self-compatible and cross-pollinated by a short number or pollinating insects (mainly Hymenoptera). Neochamaelea pulverulenta (Vent.) Erdtm. from the Canary Islands (Spain) has also been recognized as andromonoecious. This means that two of the three representatives of the family are andromonoecious and not hermaphroditic, as previously reported
