Notes on the types of several names of plants described by Candolle

The respective “lectotypes” designated by Burdet and collaborators 1983 for the names Bellis pappulosa, Carduncellus hispanicus, Centaurea bombycina, Erigeron frigidus and Senecio quinqueradiatus (Compositae) are ineffective, being contrary to Art. 9.3 of the International Code of Nomenclature. These species were described by Augustin Pyramus de Candolle from material collected by Edmond Boissier, and the material used by the author and the herbarium where it is preserved is specified in their respective protologues. Specimens preserved at G-DC should be considered as holotypes for each of these names.
